How do you explain the lightning strike of Tristan and Isolde to someone unfamiliar with the piece? You could tell about how all overwhelming stops are pulled out. You can seek words for the sublime intimacy of two people bringing the world to a standstill for one night. Or you can let the music speak for itself, with the best singers of our time and a conductor for whom this opera is the most beautiful thing in existence.
photo exhibition NEIGHBOURS
Have you seen the NEIGHBOURS exhibition? In the foyer of the Great Hall you can see beautiful portraits of local residents - poor, rich, hip, young and old. A nice mix of tradition and modernity. Definitely worth a visit before or after the concert!
