Djessy Swan is an artist from The Netherlands that will take you into her unique world through her music. As a vocalist, violinist. composer, lyricist, and producer, she always creates a cinematic and colourful atmosphere. Debut EP What Souls Are Made Of is being released after she has recorded it over the past years during her time at Berklee College of Music, an adventure in itself which put its mark onto the record. She worked with a team of people from all over the globe, bringing together many musical backgrounds and stories.

These personal songs have the ability to depart from Djessy Swan’s heart, enter into yours, and make it warmer. No matter where she draws inspiration from, with influences from pop, classical, jazz and global music, she has a broad palette of warm colours to surround you with. The music from her EP What Souls Are Made Of has a strong connection to the natural world, as well as to our own human nature, welcoming the listener to join on a journey of growth, into becoming the most authentic version of themselves.

Her musical inspirations include contemporary artists such as Laura Mvula, Jacob Collier, Björk, and Sufjan Stevens, as well as composers such as Debussy and Piazzolla, painters of stories through their music.

Having graduated with Distinction from Berklee College of Music and Cum Laude from Codarts University of the Arts, with a background both as an artist and session violinist, she has an extensive experience. She has played on stages such as at North Sea Jazz, Het Concertgebouw, Palau de Les Arts, and played and recorded with Latin Grammy nominated tango ensemble OTRA, as well as played in projects with a.o. Banda Magda, Becca Stevens, and members of Snarky Puppy.
