thank you for this season!

The 23/24 season has officially come to an end. We look back on a season filled with remarkable projects, emerging talents, curious kids, and of course, beautiful music. A season that wouldn’t have been such a success without you – thank you!

With your support

Thanks to the contributions of you, our friends and sponsors, we were able to invest a total of €150,000 in the future of music and the Doelen last season. With this amount, we supported no less than 169 projects.

With this help, we reached more than 5,000 kids and young people with education and participation projects. Many of them visited the Doelen for workshops from the Doelen Kids, where we introduce the youngest generation to the wonderful world of live music. Hundreds of children attended the Kinder Muziek Week, which traditionally opened at the Doelen. We also organized various kids concerts and unique projects for our youngest audience.

On stage, we also focused on the next generation. A significant portion of the donations was used for talent development. Weekly concerts such as the Talent Break and The Jazz Corner gave dozens of young talents a flying start. Thanks to your financial support, concerts from series such as Het Nieuwe Nu Young, Dutch Classical Talent, Monday Night Jam, and various concerts by young creators in the Doelen Studio could also take place. In total, we were able to provide a stage for at least 555 talents!

Together with you

This past season, we not only achieved a lot but also experienced a lot together. We started the season together during the festive season opening, an evening-long program with concerts from various genres. In October, we celebrated the arrival of 609 new, ergonomic chairs in the Jurriaanse Zaal, made possible by the support of our visitors, companies, and funds.
In the spring, we looked ahead to the new season together during the program presentation. Programmers Masa Spaan and Robin de Bruijn gave us a glimpse into the new classical season and the stories behind the series.

For the first time, we celebrated the Week of the Friend this season. During this week, we invited you to various exclusive activities that sometimes took you all over the building. For the first time on the stage of the Grote Zaal, sneaking a quick play on the piano in the soloist’s room, and peeking in during the dress rehearsal of Capella Amsterdam. It all happened during the Week of the Friend!

And of course, we enjoyed beautiful concerts together. From the absolute world’s best, to emerging local heroes, and from bombastic orchestras to memorable acoustic sessions.

Thank you for a fantastic season!
