Vulvaverse presents: Tristwch Y Fenywod, Liturgy (solo) & Segadeath

Tristwch Y Fenywod
Tristwch Y Fenywod is a band of three queer women who play avant garde Gothic rock using folk, rock, and digital instruments, with lyrics sung entirely in the Welsh language (Cymraeg). Sapphic love and desire, existential darkness, political and environmental anguish/celebration, psychogeographic romance, pagan mysticism, imaginal explorations of Celtic history and myth, psychedelia, and myriad other variations of reverie are conjured through the music of Tristwch Y Fenywod. They were formed in 2022 in Leeds, which is where the band is primarily based. 

Litugy
Liturgy is het project van Haela Ravenna Hunt-Hendrix, wiens smachtende, energieke “transcendentale black metal” zich bevindt in de ruimte tussen metal, kunstmuziek en heilig ritueel. De huidige bezetting bestaat uit Mario Miron (gitaar), Tia Vincent-Clark (bas) en Leo Didkovsky (drums).

Geroemd om hun fusie van oprechte emotie, compositorische complexiteit, stilistische durf en intense live-energie, is de band tegelijkertijd een medium en platform voor drama en theologie. De band werd opgericht in de context van Brooklyn DIY als een soloproject door Hunt-Hendrix in 2005, terwijl ze filosofie en klassieke compositie studeerde aan Columbia. In 2009 stimuleerde Hunt-Hendrix een vurige conversatie in de muziekwereld met haar tekst “Transcendental Black Metal”, en nadat ze waren uitgebreid tot een kwartet deden ze wereldwijd van zich spreken met hun tweede album Aesthethica uit 2011, omdat ze black metal met math rock samensmolten en de vorm doordrenkten met een contra-intuïtief liefdevolle, emotionele energie.

Segadeath
SEGADEATH is in Rotterdam gevestigde dungeon synth, dystopische Electro, Ambient en
Science Fiction. Je lokale non-binaire synth held. Geïnspireerd door een nostalgisch verlangen naar een simpele tijd en een kille doch hoopvolle visie op de toekoms
