The Waltz of the Flowers, the Trepak, the Dance of the Sugar Fairy: Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker gives us one classic Christmas hit after another. The party begins as early as the Overture, which makes the magic of Christmas Eve tangible. When midnight strikes and the music takes us from under the Christmas tree into a moonlit forest, the enchantment is complete. A fairy tale for all adults who want to be children again for a while.
