We celebrate Maurice Ravel's 150th birthday with a concert that combines his most beloved music with that of two befriended colleagues. André Jolivet winks in his irresistible Bassoon Concerto (with our own Lola Descours) at the jazz that Ravel loved so much. And chess friend Sergei Prokofiev concludes his Fifth Symphony with what sounds like a fantastically twisted ode to Ravel's own Boléro. In gloria!
photo exhibition NEIGHBOURS
Have you seen the NEIGHBOURS exhibition? In the foyer of the Great Hall you can see beautiful portraits of local residents - poor, rich, hip, young and old. A nice mix of tradition and modernity. Definitely worth a visit before or after the concert!
