Ahmet Aslan

Turkish musician Ahmet Aslan creates a sound world of timeless beauty that you can become completely immersed in. He achieves this partly with his voice, which sounds robust and warm, but can also reach poignant heights. In the process, he shines on his own stringed instrument, the Di-Tar, a cross between a classical guitar, a flamenco guitar and a bağlama (stringed instrument).

Ahmet Aslan is a passionate advocate for the culture of the Zaza, the people on the border between Iran and Turkey. But he is beloved throughout Turkey, especially since his music was used in the popular TV crime series Eşkiya Dünyaya Hükümdar Olmaz (Ruler of the Underworld). His success has a Dutch touch, as he developed the Di-Tar at Codarts World Music in Rotterdam.
