It's summer, and although the new concert series doesn't start until September, we're not sitting still! Herman Lamers and Yvo van der Vat are presenting their latest installation at the Doelen Art. This artwork is designed to be admired from the outside, making it an interactive and accessible part of the street.

Herman Lamers and Yvo van der Vat occasionally create installations together under the name Lavart. They create their work on the spot, inspired by space and with a touch of humor. This exhibition, specially designed for De Doelen Art, has music as its theme, which fits perfectly with our concert hall.

Herman Lamers is a visual artist known for his monumental installations, in which he combines abstract and realistic elements and uses various materials such as clay, bronze, aluminum, neon and textiles. Herman's work can be found in both museums and public spaces, from Schiphol in Amsterdam to Tianjin, China. Since 2019, he has again focused on special installations and collaborations with other artists. His work explores the interaction between art and space, focusing on the involvement of the viewer.

Yvo van der Vat, the independent artist behind The Youmanism, brings a philosophical approach to his work. Youmanism is an approach in study, philosophy, worldview or practice. It focuses on the fact that you can learn something from others. In addition, it strives to promote respect for others in practice, which leads to better communication and understanding between people. Yvo is also co-founder of Baracca.nl, together with Ibrahim R. Ineke. This nomadic artist initiative started in 2005 and has been operating since 2011 under the name Nomadic Independent Artist Initiative (NIAI).

You don't want to miss this unique art installation in the Doelen Art. Stop by and get inspired! De Doelen concert season opens again on September 5, but you are welcome to come and have a drink in de Doelen Studio afterwards. Check out the opening hours here.
