FENNE

Makes any room feel like a living room

Through surprising harmonies, personal lyrics and lyrical melodies, FENNE takes you to a living room. A room where you can talk about anything, without judgement. A room where you feel safe and can relax, where you can laugh and cry and sink into your own thoughts.

FENNE's inspirations are artists such as Eloise, Bruno Major and Jacob Collier, who work in a genre-breaking way and mix various jazz influences with current pop productions. FENNE does not like to place herself in one specific genre, and can be placed in both pop and jazz stages. Her lyrics read like a diary, with subjects such as dreams and expectations, disappointments and desires.

FENNE is the project of singer and composer Fenne Scholte. Her band consists of guitarist Alex van der Spek, bassist Dirk Evelo and drummer Daan Jonker. They are all students/graduates from the Utrecht Conservatory.

In 2021, FENNE released her first album: “Hope”. This did surprisingly well and several songs ended up in Spotify playlists. The single “Wish I Could Sing” won the Charles Mingus award for “Best Composition” in 2022.

FENNE has played on several major stages, such as Cloud 9 (Tivoli Vredenburg), Verkadefabriek (Den Bosch) and the Grachtenfestival Amsterdam. She was also selected for the Popronde tour of 2022 and played about nine concerts in different cities.

In 2022, FENNE appeared on an episode of the program “New Generation” of NPO2 Extra, where she talked about her own history, her current project and writing songs about finding the child within yourself. These songs were performed at ESNS Groningen. In 2023, the new EP “Beyond The Wall” was released with these five songs. This EP was produced and recorded by Boudewijn Pleij.

She is currently working on her second album “Angel With A Darkness”, made possible by Sena & Amarte Fondsen. This album will be released in mid-November 2024.
