Utopia Orchestra
The Utopia Orchestra, founded by conductor Teodor Currentzis, is an international festival ensemble of top musicians from around the globe. Independent and idealistic, Utopia focuses on in-depth artistic creation, striving for the core essence of music. Since its 2022 debut, the orchestra has performed at major European venues and, since 2023, holds a residency at Berlin’s Funkhaus.
Teodor Currentzis
Teodor Currentzis is the founder and artistic director of Utopia Orchestra and music director of musicAeterna. From 2018 to 2024, he was chief conductor of the SWR Symphony Orchestra. Known for his bold and expressive interpretations, he conducts at leading opera houses and has won numerous international awards for his recordings, now also released on his own label, Theta.
