Maher’s Kitchen x de Doelen Keuken

Here it's all about good food, before or after a concert or just on the off chance. Our chef Maher Al Sabbagh always surprises visitors with his unique Syrian and Sicilian dishes. His famous buffet is known for its colorful, flavorful and traditional dishes from our world culinary heritage. Vegetables form the basis of his creative, worldly dishes with a unique touch!

De Doelen Kitchen is a training restaurant in cooperation with Zadkine Hospitality College. Students follow various apprenticeship programs in the kitchen and service. In this way, students are trained well, you can eat delicious food and together we make the city a little more hospitable! For €35, you can grab a plate between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. and tuck in. If you make an online reservation, you receive a €2,50 discount.

Maher Al Sabbagh

The Damascus-born chef Maher Al Sabbagh arrived in Rotterdam via Sicily and Milan in 1992 and has built a warm relationship with the residents of the Maasstad with his cooking skills. Nothing is too crazy for him. Time and again he surprises diners with age-old Palestinian dishes, Sicilian anti-pasti, Syrian soups, but also traditional Dutch desserts like hang-op.

“together we make impact!”

“With this unique collaboration, Zadkine and the Doelen are actively contributing to the social-societal task of our region and our residents. We are creating a unique offer for students to quickly gain practical experience and a valuable degree in a sector where there is a high demand for well-trained personnel. We also actively contribute to the college targets of the City of Rotterdam. We want to contribute to fewer Rotterdammers on welfare. That's how we at Zadkine have your future together,” - Perry van Milt, director of Zadkine Hospitality College.
