In the coming years, there will be a lot of work done on the centre of Rotterdam. This will affect the accessibility of the Doelen. Are you travelling by car via Hofplein? Please allow for a delay of around 20 minutes. Please note: access to concerts is limited or not possible after the start! So make sure you are at the Doelen on time.
We have listed the most important changes for you.
redesign of Hofplein
In the coming years, the iconic traffic square will be transformed into a green, car-free city square with more space for pedestrians and cyclists. The work will start in April 2025 and will last until the end of 2027. During this period, Hofplein will be less accessible.

construction of the Modernist
A new residential and work complex is being built opposite Rotterdam Central Station: the Modernist. Construction is expected to last until the end of 2027. As of Monday 24 February, it will no longer be possible to turn right onto Kruisplein from the west side of Weena (from ‘s-Gravendijkwal). Traffic can only continue straight to the east.
