Ambitus bridges the gap between today's modern composers and their audiences. In this hectic world, it is nice to occasionally check out and lose yourself in the beauty of music. Performed by the composers themselves, every Ambitus presents performance takes you on a musical journey interspersed with personal stories from the creator. It doesn't get much more personal than that.
To some, this music movement may be better known as neo-classical; Ambitus is the platform for contemporary music performed by the composers themselves, where we want to inspire and connect you.

At a time when the world is on fire, polarization divides us more than ever and burnouts are flying around our ears, Frerick den Haan creates order out of chaos with his stylistic compositions for the piano.

With roots in jazz and classical music, Frerick has developed into a versatile musician. In addition to his own compositions, he is also active as keyboardist for the Dutch indie pop band Handsome Poets (known for the hits Sky On Fire, Dance The War is Over), but with his own compositions he walks a completely different path. Constantly experimenting in recent years, he found his own voice with elements from film music, classical music and pop / indie music, deliberately seeking the melancholy of the piano. In this, he creates his own world in which himself and his millions of listeners worldwide can escape the hectic pace of the day.

His music is now played in the most popular Spotify and Apple Music playlists for instrumental piano music, appeared under the short animated film L'Étranger and was recently curated on the BBC's classical channel by none other than Downton Abbey's actress Michelle Dockery.

The platform 3voor12 wrote full of praise for his music. They named him one of the big surprises of 2023 from the scene in The Hague and described his music as a moment for everyone to go into hyper focus. In addition, the international platform Bandcamp wrote about his debut record NOIR; “Calming and peaceful, Frerick den Haan's composition explores the grandeur found in quietude.”

Expect a show brimming with surprising music for solo piano interspersed with personal stories behind the compositions.
