De Doelen celebrates the rich diversity of India during Endless India - a festive program full of music, dance, film and stories. In the Jurriaanse Zaal, foyer and Van Capellenzaal, enjoy seven hours of top artists from home and abroad combining authentic Indian ragas with contemporary influences from pop, jazz, R&B, soul, Carnatic and Bollywood. A sensory experience that will stay with you for a long time.

Program

Jasrangi Jugalbandi - Ankita & Krishna (17:00 - 18:30)
For the first time in the Netherlands: a Jasrangi Jugalbandi, known from the Prime series Bandish Bandits. Vocalists Ankita Joshi and Krishna Bongane perform a musical dialogue in which two ragas - as well as two voices - flow together in harmony. This particular form, developed by Ankita's guru Pandit Jasraj, is rare because of the technical challenges between male and female singing voices. The musical accompaniment comes from Hinal Pattani, known for DesiYUP's Hindi Cinema Classics. Even without theoretical knowledge, the power of this music is palpable.

Vidya Vox (19.30 - 21.00)
For the first time live in the Netherlands: YouTube sensation Vidya Vox, together with composer and multi-instrumentalist Shankar Tucker. With her recognizable mashups and original songs, she blurs the boundaries between East and West. Expect a dynamic concert full of Bollywood, Carnatic, pop and electronic beats.

Continuous program

Jurrian Foyer (2:30 - 9:30 p.m.)
The foyer transforms into a colorful South Asian market with sari-draping, henna art, chai tasting, meditation clinics, Bollywood dance, a Meet & Greet with the artists and more surprises.

Van Capellen Hall (2:30 - 9:30 p.m.)
Watch impressive documentaries, including films about Indian Ragamala (made in Pakistan and India, i.c.w. Museum Rietberg Zurich), the portrait Moving Mountains about cult figure Ma Anand Sheela, and Maghreeb, about the search for home.

3 years of Endless India
The first edition took place in 2023, celebrating 150 years of Hindu immigration. Since then, the festival has grown into a multi-day platform that connects the cultures and stories of South Asia with Rotterdam.
